Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent childcare related qualification essential
Higher Level Teaching Assistant status (HLTA) or equivalent qualificationessential
Maths and English GCSE (4-9 /C-A* grade)   essential

Skills

Experience/Knowledge

Recent work experience of working with children of relevant age in a teaching and learning environment essential
Experience of working with wide range of children including those with Education, Health Care Plans essential
Understanding of principals of child development and learning processes essential
Experience of intervention delivery and planning essential
One to one and small group workessential

Personal Attributes

Commitment to own professional development and willingness to undertake training essential

Relevant Experience

Experience of having supported pupils who have SEMH/ASD/ADHD or with neurodiversityessential

Relevant Skills

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with a range of different audiences including providing sensitive feedback to parents/carers and other professionals regarding pupil developmentessential
Ability and confidence to assist pupils with basic numeracy and literacy in line with learning strategies and national curriculum essential
Possess strong classroom/behaviour management skillsessential
Strong behaviour management and confident in challenging behaviouressential
