At Surrey Square, we aim to give our amazing pupils the very best. We are proud to be “more than a school” in so many ways; from how we support our families and community, how we focus on the important work beyond the National Curriculum and how we balance the academic learning with developing well-being, relationships and values. This is our core work. We build on this core with the aim to equip our children to thrive and to build a better world for themselves and others. Social justice forms a critical part of our curriculum at SSq as we want to empower our children to find their voice and know how to use it to make positive change where it is needed.

They define our ‘personal excellence’ curriculum and are the backbone of Surrey Square, shaping our curriculum and pedagogy, and guiding our behaviours.

We are a community of learners at Surrey Square, teachers learn with and from each other; collaboration is a key part of how we work here. Surrey Square is part of a cluster of Big Education schools. As a member of the Big Education Trust, teachers at Surrey Square also engage with teachers and experts in School 21 and School 360 in Newham.
