We have a vibrant and friendly school community where everyone is valued and respected. We are looking to recruit within our Learning Support staff team and in turn we can offer a great range of professional development and opportunities to develop skills around SEND.
There are a wide range of other benefits that you can get from working for Leeds City Council over and above your salary.
Exciting Times Ahead – Join Us on Our Journey
We are delighted to share that our school is entering an exciting period of growth. Over the next couple of years, we will be expanding and moving into a brand-new, purpose-built school. This development will allow us to offer additional places for children and young people with SEND and continue to enhance the high-quality provision we are proud to deliver.
As a result of this expansion, we will be recruiting additional staff across a range of roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated, supportive team at a pivotal time in our journey, helping to shape the future of our school and make a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils.

Why we need the information we request
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) sets out schools' legal duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
At Broomfield South SILC, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. Our pupils have a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, and many are particularly vulnerable. We therefore have a responsibility to ensure that every adult working in our school is suitable to work with children and shares our commitment to keeping them safe.
We appreciate that providing detailed employment and personal information can feel onerous. Please be assured that these requirements are not intended to create unnecessary barriers to application. Rather, they form an essential part of our safer recruitment procedures and help us fulfil our statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
As part of our safer recruitment process, all applicants are required to provide:
- Personal details, including current and former names, current address, and National Insurance number.
- Details of their current or most recent employment, including their role and reason for leaving.
- A full employment history since leaving secondary education, including periods of education, employment, self-employment, voluntary work, and any periods not in employment.
- An explanation for any gaps in employment or education history.
We welcome applications from candidates who share our values and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Any gaps or discrepancies in employment history will be discussed as part of the recruitment process, and applicants should not be concerned about providing explanations where there are legitimate reasons for breaks in employment or education
