About Us
Callerton Academy is new secondary school that opened in September 2021 as one of two new schools within Gosforth Group. Our principal aim is to encourage high expectations and high standards of achievement, both academic and personal. We are driven by a desire to support young people to create their future and be successful in all they do. Our values embrace honesty, trust, reliability, respect for the legitimate rights of others, care for every member of society, regard for the environment, and kindness towards other people. We have high expectations of both ourselves and our students. Our exceptional, highly skilled, and dedicated staff strive to develop aspirational and confident young people who have a lifelong love of learning. We moved into our new school building located in Westerhope, in September 2025, serving around 1,200 students from Year 7 to Year 11. Callerton Academy is an exciting and thriving secondary school where staff are highly valued and invested in to be able to become exceptional practitioners.
