About Us

St Augustine’s Catholic Primary School is a welcoming and caring community where faith, learning, and love come together. Children are known as individuals and nurtured to flourish. The recent Ofsted inspection celebrated the school’s strong sense of community, ambitious learning and the pride pupils take in their achievements, with parents describing St Augustine’s as “a wonderful school where the children are nurtured and feel part of a family.”

As one of two Cathedral Schools, we work closely with St Mary’s Cathedral. St Augustine’s proudly lives out its mission statement, “Serve the Lord in gladness,” by placing Catholic values at the heart of everyday life. Here, children are truly at the centre of all we do. Every child is nurtured to grow spiritually, academically, and socially in an environment built on kindness, respect, and a strong sense of belonging.

St Augustine’s is an inclusive school where the needs of every child are recognised and supported, ensuring that all pupils can thrive and achieve their full potential. The dedicated and hardworking staff team work closely with supportive governors and parents to create a positive and enriching learning experience. Pupils are well behaved, respectful, and eager to learn, contributing to a calm and purposeful atmosphere throughout the school. Together, this strong partnership between staff, families, and children makes St Augustine’s a place where every child is valued, encouraged, and inspired to succeed.
