Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant & Nursery School is a two-form-entry school, which embodies the school mantra of 'Strive to be the very best version of yourself'. With a 93% combined outcome in reading, writing, and maths at Key Stage 2, we are ranked in the top 5% of primary schools nationally.

Halfpenny Lane was selected as a lead school for music by the West Yorkshire Music Hub - a recognition of the school's commitment to music.

2025 Edurio Staff Survey

Pontefract Academies Trust has been recognised with the Trust Value Award – Excellence in the 2025 Edurio Awards – placing us among the top 10 performing trusts nationally, based on staff feedback.

 Halfpenny Lane Junior, Infant & Nursery School received fantastic results in the survey, with 88% of staff saying they would recommend the school as a good place to work. This surpasses both the Trust benchmark of 85% and the national benchmark of 73%.

 98% of staff also shared that they would recommend Halfpenny Lane to parents as a good place for their children to study.
