The King's School

The King's School is one of the oldest schools in Yorkshire and has a reputation for high standards and excellence. Currently, it is the highest performing school in the authority, with the strongest attendance. We are incredibly proud of our place in the community and our reputation for being more than just a secondary school. While we are deeply rooted in our tradition, we are ambitious and future focused for our young people.

2025 Edurio Staff Survey

Pontefract Academies Trust has been recognised with the Trust Value Award – Excellence in the 2025 Edurio Awards – placing us among the top 10 performing trusts nationally, based on staff feedback.

Our Trust received fantastic results in the survey, with 85% of staff saying they would recommend it as a good place to work – significantly higher than the national benchmark of 73%.
