The Board of Directors of St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust is looking to appoint a Headteacher to St Charles Catholic Academy from January 2027 to lead this happy and successful school.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a strong Catholic primary academy. Reporting to the Director of Primary Education, you will focus your leadership skills on both the Catholic life of the school and improving standards of teaching and learning.


The successful candidate will:

  1. Be a practising Catholic with a strong faith commitment, embracing Catholic life and mission as a core leadership responsibility.
  2. Be an inspirational leader with a clear, compelling vision for Catholic education and the ability to unite stakeholders behind that vision.
  3. Have a proven track record of leading improvement at whole-school level.
  4. Demonstrate a secure understanding of the CSI and Ofsted frameworks and a relentless commitment to excellence for every pupil.
  5. Build strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents/carers, governors, Trust colleagues and external partners.
  6. Communicate with clarity and warmth, listening actively and engaging confidently with a range of audiences.
  7. Respond and adapt effectively to changing circumstances, sustaining high performance and professional wellbeing.
  8. Place safeguarding at the heart of decision-making and model the highest standards of professional conduct.
