St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking an enthusiastic, organised and ambitious Apprentice Project Officer to join our Central Team.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start a professional career in project management while gaining a recognised Associate Project Manager (Level 4) Apprenticeship qualification. Working closely with the Trust's Project Manager, you will gain valuable experience supporting a range of strategic projects that make a real difference to schools, staff and young people across our Trust.


As part of a growing and ambitious organisation, you will play an important role in supporting Trust-wide improvement initiatives, coordinating activities, maintaining project information and helping to onboard new schools into our family of academies.


About the Role

The Apprentice Project Officer will support the successful delivery of projects across the Trust by providing high-quality project administration, coordination and stakeholder support. You will develop practical skills in:


  1. Project planning and coordination
  2. Stakeholder engagement and communication
  3. Risk and action management
  4. Project reporting and monitoring
  5. Process improvement and change management
  6. Meeting organisation and documentation
  7. Data management and project tracking systems


Working alongside colleagues across our schools and central services teams, you will gain hands-on experience while learning from experienced professionals and applying your apprenticeship learning in the workplace.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating and monitoring Trust-wide projects and improvement programmes.
  2. Maintain project plans, documentation, action logs, risk registers and tracking systems.
  3. Support the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the Trust’s project management system.
  4. Organise project meetings, prepare agendas and record actions.
  5. Assist with onboarding new schools into the Trust by coordinating information and monitoring progress.
  6. Produce reports, presentations, dashboards and project updates for stakeholders.
  7. Support the monitoring of project risks, compliance actions and operational priorities.
  8. Build positive relationships with colleagues, schools and external partners.
  9. Contribute ideas to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
  10. Successfully complete the Associate Project Manager (Level 4) Apprenticeship Standard.


About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  6. Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  7. Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
  8. Committed to continuous improvement and personal development.


Essential Requirements

  1. GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  2. Commitment to completing the Associate Project Manager (Level 4) Apprenticeship.
  3. Good IT skills and willingness to learn new systems.
  4. Strong organisational and communication skills.

You will be based at the Trust's Central Office in the iconic Port of Liverpool Building, with flexibility for hybrid working where appropriate. Some travel to schools across the Trust may be required.
