Cleaner Vacancy at Parklands High School


Location: Parklands High School, Southport Road, Chorley, Lancashire

Hours: 13 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 15.15-18.00 and Friday 15.15-17.15, term time only plus 3 weeks

Grade: NJC Grade 3 Scale Point 4

Salary: £7,948.05-£8,072.74 per year (pro rata)


We are looking for a reliable, dedicated Cleaner to help us keep Parklands High School in excellent condition. Working under the direction of our Cleaning Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our school remains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff alike.


What you will do:


  • Clean classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas
  • Use cleaning equipment (such as floor buffers - full training will be provided)
  • Replenish paper towels, toilet rolls, and other supplies
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the team
  • Assist with additional cleaning for special events, such as open evenings
  • Follow all health and safety and safeguarding procedures


What we are looking for:

  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding children
  • Willingness to work extra hours occasionally (such as for parents’ evenings)


Previous cleaning experience is useful but not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
