Your Role

Teacher – Alphington Primary School

Some moments in teaching stay with you forever.

A child proudly writing their name for the very first time.

The excitement of discovering something new.

The quiet confidence that grows when a child realises, “I can do this.”

At Alphington Primary School, we believe these moments matter. They are the building blocks of confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

We are looking for a nurturing, enthusiastic and skilled Early Years teacher who understands the extraordinary importance of the first years of school. Someone who can create a classroom where children feel safe, valued and inspired to explore the world around them.

This permanent role offers the opportunity to work within our reception classes alongside our experienced EYFS Lead, in an environment aligned with Early Excellence principles. Our Early Years setting celebrates purposeful play, rich continuous provision and carefully scaffolded learning experiences that allow every child to flourish.

While this role will be based in Reception for the coming academic year, applicants should be willing to work across other year groups when required.

We are looking for someone who will:

· Deliver high-quality Early Years provision so every child can thrive in school and beyond

· Have high expectations for children’s learning, behaviour and wellbeing

· Work closely with our EYFS Lead to maintain a vibrant and inspiring Early Years environment

· Build strong, supportive relationships with children and their families

· Contribute to our collaborative approach to curriculum, assessment and continuous provision

· Bring energy, warmth and commitment to the wider life of the school

· Be reflective, organised and committed to professional growth

We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a passion for Early Years and relevant experience or experienced practitioners with a strong understanding of child development and early learning

In return, we offer:

· Children who are curious, kind and eager to learn

· A supportive and dedicated staff team who care deeply about our pupils and each other

· A collaborative and forward-thinking school community

· Opportunities for professional development and career progression

· The chance to make a meaningful difference to children at the very beginning of their educational journey
