Your Role

We are seeking a Teacher of Science to join Callerton Academy, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning that enables all students to achieve their full potential. You will create a positive and supportive classroom environment, planning and delivering engaging lessons across science disciplines to ensure full curriculum coverage and meet the diverse needs of learners.

You will use a range of effective and inclusive teaching strategies to inspire curiosity and enjoyment in science, while assessing and monitoring student progress to raise attainment and inform your practice. Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will contribute to the development of the science curriculum and wider student experience, supporting both academic success and personal development.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  1. A qualified teacher with a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  2. A passionate and effective classroom practitioner with a strong commitment to Science education.
  3. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  4. The ability to relate well to students in both academic and pastoral roles and to motivate them to succeed.
  5. Knowledge of the KS4 science curriculum and, ideally, confidence across physics, chemistry and biology.

This role is suitable for ECT’s.
