What you’ll lead and deliver
- Whole‑school SEND strategy and provision—including oversight of the SEND team and any specialist resource base—and the effective implementation of the graduated approach.
- Relentless focus on outcomes: use performance and progress data (KS3/KS4) to evaluate impact, close gaps and drive improvement for pupils with SEND and those in Alternative Provision.
- High‑quality teaching, learning and professional development: quality‑assure classroom practice; coach, mentor and upskill colleagues; lead CPD on adaptive teaching, accessibility and reasonable adjustments.
- Multi‑agency working: build strong partnerships with parents/carers, feeder primaries, educational psychologists, health and social care, and other external agencies to secure the best support packages for pupils.
- Safeguarding for pupils with SEND: work closely with the DSL to ensure robust identification, information‑sharing and support; oversee the timely completion of relevant risk assessments/PEEPs.
- Leadership & accountability: line‑manage identified areas/faculties; contribute to SEF/SIP; prepare the academy for Ofsted by evidencing impact and compliance across SEND and inclusion.
