Pontefract Academies Trust is a cross-phase Multi Academy Trust compromising of eight schools, six primary schools and two 11-16 secondary schools, all located within a tight geographic hub within Pontefract. It is a thriving trust that has been on a sustained journey of improvement in recent years and is ambitious to improve further, positively impacting more lives.


The Trust Management Accountant role sits as part of our Trust central team. We are looking for a qualified accountant with experience of managing the delivery of a professional, proactive and effective financial service.


The successful candidate will:


  • Take ownership of month end processes and reporting to ensure that the central finance operation underpins the running of high-quality schools.
  • Ensure that the Trust maintains proper accounts and records to ensure that regularity and propriety are achieved to the high standards expected from a public body.
  • Be fully in tune and excited with the direction of the Trust, with a recognition that formally aligned systems, polices and processes across our schools will drive standards for the young people of Pontefract.
  • Be strategic-minded and decisive with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
