Your Role

Role: HR Administrator

Salary: £30,000 FTE (pro rata) - Part-time (25 hours/week, ideally 4-5 days)

Location: Hybrid working


Are you an organised and proactive HR professional looking to make a real difference in a rewarding school environment? Red Balloon Educational Trust is seeking an HR Administrator to join our team, supporting our mission to transform young lives.


You’ll be at the heart of our HR function, administering recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding, maintaining our Single Central Record, and supporting safer recruitment processes. You’ll triage HR queries, manage HRIS data, and support our friendly and committed staff team.


What we’re looking for:

  1. HR administration experience (school, independent school, or charity setting ideal)
  2. Confident with HR information systems
  3. Experience in safer recruitment and maintaining SCR
  4. Ability to manage confidential information and triage employee queries
  5. Strong organisational and IT skills

About Us

Red Balloon Educational Trust (RBET) is a UK charity that provides an alternative provision to young people studying at KS3-4 unable to attend mainstream school due to bullying, mental health issues, trauma or neurodivergence. We provide tailored educational, wellbeing and social re-engagement programmes both in physical Centres in Aylesbury, Norfolk and Worthing, as well as a blended online and in-person provision via Red Balloon of the Air in Cambridge.


The RBET Central Services team provides the underpinning strategic support and organisational development for the Red Balloon network, and works to open additional Centres in new locations.
