St Michael’s Prep is currently seeking three dynamic and enthusiastic Gap Students to join our outstanding PE department. Get ready for an adventure where you will collaborate with our fantastic PE team, paving the way for a rewarding career working with children and showcasing the positive impact you can make on their lives.

 

The successful candidate will dive into the world of PE and Games lessons, taking on administrative work, break duties, sports fixtures, tournament organisation and the opportunity to support in the classroom. You will learn to plan, organise, support, progress, nurture and enrich the lives of children all the while being a reliable team player. If you've got unique ideas or special skills up your sleeve, we want to hear about them!


We are on the lookout for individuals with a genuine passion for sports, those who engage in regular play, and preferably, have some experience in sports coaching, refereeing, and basic IT skills. This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to grow and develop in a vibrant and supportive environment.


The post is a one-year fixed term contract helping you gain valuable insights to working in the teaching profession.

Salary: £15,241.43 based on FTE salary of £20,085

Qualifications

Minimum five GCSEs grade 4 or aboveessential
Including Maths and English Grade C/4 or above
Safeguarding/Prevent qualification or willing to work towardsdesirable
First Aid Certificatedesirable

Skills

Abilities, Skills and Knowledge

Strong people skills with the ability to demonstrate a confident and effective rapport with all staff, being assertive where necessary

Experience

Current first aid certificate
Previous experience working in a school

Experience/Knowledge

Knowledge and experience of Microsoft programs including Word and Outlook
Understanding of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) and safeguarding in schools

Personal Attributes

Sympathetic with the Christian ethos and values of the school
Self-motivated and able to use initiative to forward plan to meet deadlines, with a flexible approach to accommodate changing priorities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team
