Your Role

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with Nancledra School, are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant. Nancledra School is set in a beautiful rural location between Penzance and St Ives, offering excellent facilities and access to inspiring outdoor learning environments, including our growing school farm, which reflects our heritage and unique setting in the fields. The real strength of the school lies in its people; staff, children, parents and governors are proud of the school and work together to provide a caring and stimulating learning environment. We share an ethos that promotes high standards in academic achievement alongside a broad, engaging, hands-on curriculum, enriched by opportunities such as outdoor and farm-based learning. We celebrate and nurture the talents and skills of all our children and aim to develop independent, curious learners who contribute positively to their community and society.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and other staff to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing. The role involves assisting in the delivery of a high-quality education, helping to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment, and ensuring pupils feel safe, valued and encouraged to succeed. The Teaching Assistant will support individuals and small groups of children, contribute to planning and assessment where appropriate, and help to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
About You:
You will have a child-centred approach and will support the delivery of a creative, inclusive and challenging curriculum that inspires and motivates children, contributing to high-quality teaching and learning both indoors and outdoors. You will bring relevant experience of working within a primary school setting and demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting pupils’ progress, wellbeing and inclusion.
You will share our vision and values and be enthusiastic about contributing to this thriving village school. The successful candidate will have experience of supporting school improvement through their classroom practice and interventions, and will be keen to embrace the opportunities of working within a flourishing and happy school with a strong sense of community.
Benefits of Working with Us:
As a leading Academy Trust, we are able to offer our staff a range of continued professional development opportunities alongside family friendly policies and access to the Local Government/Teachers Pension Schemes. More on our benefits can be found here.

The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provide that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’.
