All pupils who access the ARB provision at Pensans have an EHCP and have a range of special educational needs predominantly focusing on Communication & Interaction needs.
Working closely with and under the direction of the Class Teacher you’ll use your classroom skills to support the provision for the pupils in your class and across the ARB to ensure the best possible learning and personal outcomes for children in the ARB.
In Pensans ARB being able to share in each pupil’s progress is at the heart of what we do.
Pensans School is set in extensive grounds and woodland supporting Forest School activities.

About You:
You will be an experienced SEND Support Assistant with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs to access their full potential in this specialist provision within a mainstream school.
You will work proactively within a team of SEND Support Assistants promoting the highest standards of teaching and learning support.
You will take a pro-active role in the support of the educational, social and physical needs of the pupils.
You will support the curriculum and the school through the provision of high level assistance to the Teacher in the practical organisation of class activities, undertaking group work and ensuring the welfare and development of pupils.
You will support the professional work of teachers in delivering programmes of work and taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
You will meet the needs of pupils with specific special educational needs and disabilities in relation to physical, learning and complex behavioural difficulties.
You will meet the needs of pupils who require personal care.
If you feel you have the passion to make a difference to the lives of our children, we would very much like to hear from you. Visits to the school are encouraged – please telephone to arrange a date.
This is an exciting time to join our school. Our staff are our most important resource and the successful candidate will have our full support in their continuing professional development.
