Your Role

Trewirgie Infants School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing team. This role involves supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs, from those requiring additional support in a mainstream classroom to pupils with more complex, high-level needs.
Working under the direction of the SENDCo and class teachers, you will play a key role in helping children access learning, develop their communication and social skills, and achieve their individual targets. You will support the implementation of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), contribute to planning and reviews, and provide valuable feedback to inform children's ongoing provision.

At Trewirgie Infants, we are proud of our inclusive environment where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to thrive. We believe in creating opportunities for all children to achieve success and become confident, happy learners.

About You
We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive and keen to get stuck in to all aspects of school life. You will have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential.

The successful candidate will:
Have experience of, or a strong interest in, working with children with SEND.
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of high-needs SEND, including autism, communication difficulties and behaviours that may challenge.
Be confident supporting both non-verbal pupils and children with a range of mainstream SEN needs.
Work effectively as part of a team under the direction of the SENDCo and teaching staff.
Be able to follow and contribute to Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and support the delivery of personalised provision.
Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Remain calm, patient and adaptable in a busy school environment.
Have excellent communication and organisational skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and to be part of a supportive team dedicated to providing the very best outcomes for every pupil.

Benefits of Working with Us:
As a leading Academy Trust, we are able to offer our staff a range of continued professional development opportunities alongside family friendly policies and access to the Local Government/Teachers Pension Schemes. More on our benefits can be found here.
