Your Role

Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, together with St Just Primary School, are seeking to appoint a primary administrator to support the smooth daily running of the school. In the role, you will be based in the office, provide admin support, and be the first point of contact for parents. You will support across a range of functions, including payroll, personnel, school events and maintaining student records (please see the attached job description). St Just Primary School is closely linked with Cape Cornwall School – since 2024, both schools have been led by the same headteacher. As part of the role, you may be required to support some of the admin functions at Cape Cornwall School. The role is part time and for 4 days a week. Days and times will be discussed at interview stage.

St Just is a wonderful place to live and learn. Our school sits in the middle of our small town and is a key part of the community. We are committed to participating in community events such as the annual St Piran’s celebrations, Lafrowda festival and lead celebrations of Christmas and Remembrance at the local parish church and the Methodist Chapel.

We are very proud of our school and the work we do in successful partnership with our pupils, parents and the local community.

With a number on roll of around 160 pupils aged between 4 years and 11 years, we are organised into 6 classes, one class from Years 3 – 6 and a mixed Reception / Year 1 class and a Year 1 / Year 2 class. Our classes vary in number reflecting the number of children in the catchment.

We are very child-centered, with a focus on the whole child. Our children are polite and well-behaved and relationships between staff and pupils are excellent. We have a stable team and staff work together brilliantly as a team to support the progress and personal; development of all our children.

About You:

You will have a child-cantered approach, and be comfortable working across a range of office functions. You will have a warm manner and be able to work well with parents and be very much a key ‘face of the school’. You will be organised in your work and be able to juggle the different demands of working in a busy primary school. You will be flexible and adaptable and be able to support the work of the school and the wider staff team. As part of this, you will need strong verbal and written communication skills. This is a key role in the school so previous experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage.

Benefits of Working with Us:

As a leading Academy Trust, we are able to offer our staff a range of continued professional development opportunities alongside family friendly policies and access to the Local Government/Teachers Pension Schemes. More on our benefits can be found here.
