Your Role

The Coleshill School is seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Food & Design Technology Technician to support the delivery of high-quality practical lessons. This is an excellent internal opportunity for an organised and proactive individual who enjoys working in a busy school environment and supporting teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Food and Design Technology departments by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients, materials and equipment for practical Food and Design Technology lessons
  • Support teachers during practical sessions when required
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in kitchens and workshops
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, placing orders where necessary
  • Ensure equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and safe to use
  • Assist with displays and preparation of teaching resources
  • Follow all health and safety and food hygiene procedures

What you'll need to succeed

  • Be organised, practical and able to work independently
  • Have good attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Confident working in a practical classroom or kitchen environment
  • Understand the importance of health and safety in a food preparation setting
  • Works well as part of a team and has a positive, supportive approach
  • Previous experience in a school, catering, or food preparation environment would be advantageous, although training will be provided.
