Your Role

The Coleshill School is seeking to appoint a reliable, organised and responsible Lead Exam Invigilator to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring that examinations are conducted fairly, efficiently and in accordance with examination regulations. You will work closely with the Exams Team and will be responsible for supporting the smooth running of examination sessions and providing guidance to other invigilators. This role would suit someone who is organised, calm under pressure and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

  2. Has excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility.
  3. Can communicate clearly and confidently with students and colleagues.
  4. Can follow examination procedures and regulations accurately.
  5. Is able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  6. Can respond appropriately to unexpected situations or changes during examination sessions.
  7. Is confident in providing guidance and support to other exam invigilators.
  8. Can work effectively as part of a team.
  9. Has a professional and reassuring manner when working with students.
  10. Is flexible and available to work on a casual basis during examination periods.
  11. Previous experience of examination invigilation would be desirable, although appropriate training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

The Lead Exam Invigilator will:

  1. Support the Exams Team with the organisation and smooth running of examination sessions.
  2. Lead and coordinate invigilators during examination sessions.
  3. Ensure examination regulations and procedures are followed.
  4. Provide clear instructions and guidance to students and invigilators.
  5. Maintain a calm and orderly examination environment.
  6. Report any incidents, concerns or irregularities to the appropriate member of the Exams Team.
  7. Support the secure handling of examination papers and materials.
  8. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
