Your Role

A Level History Teacher (with Politics desirable)

£26,772 to £51,714 per annum for 0.8fte-1.0fte

Are you passionate about teaching students and excited about shaping futures? Do you have a degree in History (or a closely related subject)? Are you a qualified teacher, or currently training to be one? Do you thrive on helping young people meet, and exceed, their potential?

If you have answered yes to these questions, then we want to hear from you!

Blackpool Sixth is a first-class college specialising in 16–19 education, and we’re looking for an enthusiastic History Teacher (with Politics desirable) to join our ambitious and supportive Humanities team on a permanent basis. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time hours (from 0.8 fte) as well as those looking for a full-time role.

This is a brilliant opportunity to teach motivated and curious students. You’ll be joining a close-knit, creative department where collaboration is the norm, ideas are shared freely, and professional growth is actively encouraged.

If you’re able to teach A Level Politics, or if you’re keen and willing to be trained to do so, then even better! If you’re curious about expanding your subject range, we’ll support you every step of the way.

A day in your new role could see you:

  • Designing and delivering engaging lessons that challenge, inspire and spark debate
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop schemes of work and high-quality resources
  • Supporting students to achieve excellent outcomes and build confidence in their academic voice
  • Taking part in departmental CPD to share ideas, refine practice and keep teaching fresh
  • Playing a part in a college culture that genuinely values students and staff alike

Ready to make learning come alive - and maybe stir a little political debate along the way? Apply today!

Closing date: Thursday 26th February 2026 at 9:00am
