Your Role

We are seeking to appoint, from April 2026, a full time, permanent Deputy Head with a teaching responsibility to work as part of the leadership team at Gatehouse Primary Academy. We will be excited to hear from leaders with strengths in curriculum, assessment and those who have a proven track record of raising standards. We are looking for applicants who are ready to forge a pathway to prove their impact and join us in making the best futures for all our children.


The school offers a warm and supportive team environment, with collaborative learning opportunities, CPD, team working and an innovative, ambitious and supportive leadership team. The school caters for pupils from 4-11and is situated in the seaside town of Dawlish off the south coast of Devon, within easy access of the M5, A38 and A380.


As a Deputy Head you will focus on key aspect of school improvement; supported by an experienced School and Trust Leadership Team. This is a teaching role with weekly leadership release time. This is a full-time role and not suitable for ECTs. We are looking to appoint an exceptional candidate who:
