Head of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics

 

Are you a passionate and inspirational teacher of Philosophy, Religion and Ethics with excellent subject knowledge and the desire and commitment to raise the achievement of pupils at all levels?

 

Are you dedicated to delivering consistently high quality teaching and learning to ensure all students make academic progress.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Philosophy, Religion and Ethics teacher with a passion for excellence and innovation in teaching.

To be successful you will need to:

 

·          Be able to teach Philosophy, Religion and Ethics across the whole ability range in KS3, KS4 and KS5. 

 

·        Have skills in communication, collaboration, listening, adaptability, empathy, and patience

 

·        Possess outstanding teaching ability

 

·        Think creatively to anticipate and solve problems

 

·        Embody the values of ‘Achievement through Caring’

 

·        Have high expectations of yourself and be a role model to others

 

·        Play a pivotal part in the Philosophy, Religion and Ethics Department

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        To support the Headteacher and SLT in meeting whole school priorities and realising the Academy’s shared vision.

·        To take responsibility for the quality of teaching and learning in the subject area.

·        To provide the strategic direction for the subject area to raise standards and secure continuous improvement across the whole department.

·        To provide leadership and management for the delivery of the subject.

·        To ensure the efficient and effective use of staff and resources for the subject area.

·        Support and promote strong positive working relationships, deploying staff appropriately.
