As part of the Site Supervisor responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for opening the school site each morning, ensuring that the premises are safe, secure, and ready for pupils, staff, and visitors. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑managed school environment.

This combined role also requires a reliable and safety‑conscious individual to provide essential transport services for the school, including transporting our pupils. As the role includes minibus duties, the candidate must hold a D1 licence.

Key Responsibilities Site Supervisor:

  • Supervise and coordinate cleaning staff to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Work collaboratively with the site team to ensure the school buildings and grounds are well maintained.
  • Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing door handles, and unblocking sinks.
  • Ensure the effective operation of heating, lighting, and security systems.
  • Maintain outdoor areas, including clearing pathways, managing waste disposal, and ensuring playgrounds and car parks are safe.
  • Manage stock levels and ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are replenished as needed.
  • Act as a key holder, responsible for securing the premises and responding to any emergencies.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including COSHH requirements.
  • Support with deep cleaning and site maintenance during school closures or holiday periods.

This role requires a strong team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a high standard of site management.

Key Responsibilities Driver:

  • Drive a range of vehicles, including specially adapted and commercial vehicles, ensuring safe and efficient transport of pupils and staff.
  • Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and basic maintenance to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and clean.
  • Assist passengers, including securing wheelchairs and supporting safe entry and exit from the vehicle.
  • Load and unload goods safely, utilising lifting equipment when necessary.
  • Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or mechanical issues in accordance with school procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Support school trips and community activities as required.
  • Adhere to safeguarding procedures and promote pupil well-being at all times.

The successful candidate will work closely with the premises and wider school team, ensuring efficient transport services and contributing to the smooth day-to-day operation of the school.

A specialist driving license is required, and local area knowledge is beneficial. Further details of the role can be found in the SVT – Premises 3 & Driver Grade C Job description available in this advert.
