Breadsall Hill Top Primary School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and hard-working Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in the nest to maximise the participation of our children. We have an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the team at Breadsall Hill Top Primary School, working full time within The Nest, our developing specialist provision for children with complex autism and significant additional needs.
At Breadsall Hill Top, we want every child to feel that they belong, are understood and can succeed. Within The Nest, we are developing a calm, nurturing and highly individualised approach where communication, connection, regulation and engagement are at the heart of learning.
This is an opportunity to become part of our wider school community while developing specialist expertise in supporting children with complex SEND.
Why join Breadsall Hill Top?
This is a particularly exciting time to join Breadsall Hill Top as The Nest continues to grow and develop.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside the SENCO and wider school team to help shape the environment, routines and specialist practice within the provision, ensuring that it continues to develop around the individual needs of our children.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to develop their expertise in complex autism and SEND within a supportive mainstream school. You will gain valuable experience of specialist teaching approaches while making a genuine difference to children’s communication, engagement, independence and experience of school.
Most importantly, you will be joining a school community where you can build meaningful relationships with children and their families and experience the satisfaction of seeing children make progress in ways that are meaningful to them.
If you are looking for a role where relationships matter, creativity is encouraged and every small step is recognised as an important achievement, we would love to hear from you.
The successful applicant will be required to meet the qualification and person specification requirements for the Level 3 Teaching Assistant post, including a recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or accepted equivalent.
Transform Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our pupils and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS checks.

- be comfortable supporting children with complex needs, including communication differences, sensory processing needs, emotional regulation, developing independence and personal care. You will be able to remain calm during periods of dysregulation and adapt your approach to meet individual children’s needs.
- Previous experience of working with children with autism, complex SEND or significant communication needs would be highly desirable, although specialist provision experience is not essential.
- The Level 3 role includes contributing to planning and evaluation and undertaking specified work, including preparing and delivering learning activities and assessing children’s progress under the direction of a qualified teacher.
