THE OPPORTUNITY

The Avon Valley School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed member of the school cleaning team. The ideal candidate will carry out cleaning tasks as directed by the appropriate supervisor.

No formal qualifications are required, however, a good standard in literacy and numeracy is required to be able to read instructions and work out simple measurements. The candidates will have the ability to work constructively as part of a team.

The successful candidates will be required to work 15 hours per week 3.30pm – 6.30pm, term time, plus teacher training days, plus 4 weeks during the holidays for deep cleaning during October half term, February half term, and the last two weeks in August.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of our cleaning team, your daily activities will include:

·      Surface Care: Wiping down desks, chairs, worktops, and tables; dusting and polishing fixtures and fittings.

·      Floor Maintenance: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and using a floor buffer.

·      Hygiene Services: Thorough cleaning of toilets, bowls, sinks, and basins to a high standard.

·      General Tasks: Emptying bins, disposing of rubbish, and cleaning inside glazing.

·      Equipment Care: Undertaking routine maintenance of equipment (e.g., changing vacuum bags) and ensuring all tools are stored safely.
