Your Role

Durrington High School has a super Mathematics department staffed by an innovative and experienced team. We have a strong and collaborative ethos within the department that has enabled us to continue to achieve strong examination results for students across the ability range.  Continually striving to improve what we do, our core belief is that every one of our students deserves to learn Maths in a high quality and positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher who is dedicated to delivering high quality lessons and is prepared to commit themselves to the role completely. This is not a department where you can rest on your laurels; we have extremely high expectations and expect every teacher to make a contribution to our on-going success. As a research school, you will work with a department that makes the most of evidence informed teaching and uses teaching for mastery as a focus at all times.

In return you will find us a very supportive and warm team, with a range of experiences and teaching styles but also receptive to new ideas and driving improvement. You will be working with a focused and proactive team who thrive on sharing ideas and resources whilst working to a fully interactive Scheme of Work that every member of staff follows and contributes to.

If you are an enthusiastic, hardworking, conscientious and energetic teacher who not only values young people but can motivate and inspire them across the age and ability range then we would like to hear from you.

Safeguarding Information

Safeguarding – Our Commitment

Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. As part of our recruitment process, we take steps to make sure everyone who joins us shares this commitment.

What this means for you:

  • All roles in our schools involve a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
  • If you’re successful, you’ll need to complete some pre-employment checks, such as an enhanced DBS check and verifying your right to work in the UK. We’ll explain these clearly and guide you through the process.
  • During the interview, we may ask questions about your understanding of safeguarding. This isn’t a test—it’s about making sure we all share the same values and priorities.

Why do we do this?

Because every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and able to thrive. These checks and conversations help us create a secure and welcoming environment for everyone.

If you have any questions about safeguarding or the checks we carry out, please let us know—we’re happy to help.
