Hatton Special School is seeking an inspiring and ambitious Deputy Headteacher to lead one of the sites in our expanding school, our new upper-school building opens in September 2026. This is a rare opportunity to be at the forefront of significant growth in a school where every pupil truly matters.

We are a thriving special school serving 199 pupils, the majority with a diagnosis of autism, across 26 classes, including two satellite classes in a local mainstream school. Our dedicated team of around 170 colleagues aim to create an environment where everyone is valued, challenged and inspired to achieve their very best.

This role falls within the scope of the Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers. Under Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, we ensure that all post-holders have the necessary level of spoken English to perform their job effectively. The specific standards are outlined in the person specification and will be applied during the recruitment process.
