OPAL Play Leader – Lunchtime Support
We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and proactive OPAL Play Leader to join our team and help us transform our lunchtime provision.
This is an exciting opportunity to support children’s play, wellbeing and positive behaviour through the nationally recognised OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) programme.
As our OPAL Play Leader, you will help create high‑quality, inclusive and enjoyable play experiences for all children. You will support the organisation of outdoor play, supervise activities, and contribute to a happy, safe and engaging lunchtime environment. You will also play an important role in the dining hall, supporting children with routines, independence and positive social interaction.

It is based on over 20 years of research and practice and has been implemented in more than 2,000 schools across the UK. OPAL supports schools to transform playtimes, improving wellbeing, behaviour, physical activity and overall enjoyment of school life.

We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys working with children and understands the importance of play
- Is confident, positive and able to engage pupils in creative, active and imaginative play
- Can promote inclusive play and support children in building friendships and resolving conflict
- Is happy to work outdoors in all weathers
- Can contribute to a calm, supportive dining environment
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and pupils
