Do you have the expertise to support with embedding a culture of safeguarding across a school community? If so, we are looking for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our wider team. As the DDSL, you will be responsible for promoting a strong safeguarding culture where every student feels safe and supported. You will work with the DSL to ensure that all staff are fully trained and understand their safeguarding responsibilities, while also ensuring students are educated on how to keep themselves safe.
In this role, you will support with aspects of safeguarding across the school, ensuring a proactive and embedded culture of child protection. You will support the DSL with the training and development of staff, ensuring they fully understand their safeguarding responsibilities and are equipped to act accordingly. Monitoring the application of safeguarding policies and procedures, you will work with others to intervene or adjust strategies as needed to ensure best practice. You will act as a key point of contact for external agencies, parents, and carers, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, well-being, and protection of all students.
We are seeking a safeguarding professional with extensive knowledge of child protection policies and procedures, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to train and develop staff in best safeguarding practices. You should have a proactive, child-centred approach and the ability to adapt practice to meet the contextual needs of the school, as well as experience in monitoring safeguarding concerns and acting decisively when necessary.
