Your Role

We are a large team that strongly believe all students should be given the opportunity to master mathematics. This means we are striving for all students to acquire a deep, long-term, secure and adaptable understanding of the subject.

Within the faculty we see the benefit of continued professional development to help promote good outcomes for our students. We run development sessions three to four times a term focussing on various aspects of teaching mathematics through a teaching for mastery approach.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has the ability to put their vision for teaching and learning into practice
  • Can deliver high quality lessons that ignite a passion for mathematics into our students

The mathematics department has seen lots of success in both pupil outcomes and Progress 8 in the past few years and would like to continue these positive trends. Time has been dedicated to upskilling the team in pedagogy and curriculum knowledge. This has resulted in an innovative and creative department who use evidence-based practice to develop their teaching and curriculum design.

We are a team that seeks to find new and interesting ways to allow pupils to learn and make progress. This is based on a supportive team ethos. As a department, we have successfully overseen massive changes to curriculum and assessment and are looking to continue to improve to ensure that pupils get the best possible grades and experience in Mathematics.

If you share our passion for ensuring high standards for all, if you believe that every learner matters and have the ambition to help maximise opportunities for young people in our school, we would very much like to hear from you.

Applications will be assessed in order of receipt and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received. Please apply as soon as possible.
