Your Role

Bere Alston Primary School, part of the First Federation Trust, are looking to appoint a Level 2/3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner


The role will require you to:

•      Hold a level 2/3 childcare qualification

•      Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children in the setting.

•      Work as part of a team, alongside the Nursery Lead, in order to provide an enabling environment in which all individual children can play, develop and learn.

•      Build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met.


The position is for 30 hours per week

Term time only (38 weeks per year)

Abilities, Skills and Knowledge

Good literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to at least level 2 of the National Qualifications Frameworkessential
Able to build effective working relationships with pupils and adultsessential
Able to use ICT equipment e.g. iPads, Chromebooksessential
Able to promote inclusion of all pupilsessential
Able to interact positively with a group of children or on a one-to-one basisessential
Aware of the expectation to approach difference positively and able to adopt an inclusive approach to pupils of all backgroundsessential
Demonstrate an understanding of children's development and needsessential
Understanding of the requirements of the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'
Understanding of the 17 ELGs
Able to undertake structured and agreed learning activities, adjusting activities according to pupil's responses as well as working on own initiative
Good knowledge of the primary national curriculum
Awareness of school policies and procedures relating to Child Protection, Health & Safety and Data Protection
Understanding and experience of managing food hygiene and physical hygiene in a nursery setting

Experience

Experience of working in a school or educational settingessential
Experience of working with and caring for young childrenessential
Experience of planning and delivering learning activities
Recent experience of working in a nursery or pre-school setting
