Axbridge Church of England First School Academy

Axbridge C of E Academy is a school with deep roots in its community, having served local families on its current site since 1849, when the land was gifted by the Marquis of Bath. Over the years, the school has grown and evolved, including the addition of six classrooms and nursery provision for children aged 2–4, while remaining firmly committed to its vision of ensuring that every child experiences “a life in all its fullness.” As a founding member of the Wessex Learning Trust since academising in 2012, the school benefits from being part of one of the South West’s most successful multi-academy trusts while maintaining its distinctive community ethos.

Its most recent OFSTED inspection celebrated the nurturing environment created by leaders and staff, where children are supported to excel academically and personally.
