About Us

Sandford Primary School is a small village school situated in a beautiful rural setting at the foot of the Mendip Hills, serving a close-knit community it has supported for over two hundred years. With around 150 pupils organised into five classes, the school is home to a dedicated, experienced, and highly skilled team of teachers and support staff who work together to create a calm, purposeful, and stimulating learning environment.

The school is committed to raising standards and making learning both exciting and enjoyable through a creative and innovative curriculum. Staff focus on developing a positive and engaging atmosphere where children are encouraged to achieve their best and develop a lifelong love of learning. This is supported by strong leadership and governance, which help to maintain a clear vision and high expectations across the school.

Set within a peaceful location, Sandford offers extensive outdoor learning opportunities, including a spacious playground, a conservation area with a pond, and an adventure play space. Indoors, bright and airy classrooms showcase vibrant displays of children’s work, reflecting pride in achievement and creativity. The school’s strong academic reputation, positive pupil behaviour, and supportive team culture make it a rewarding and inspiring place to work, where staff are part of a community committed to excellence and care.
