Hours: Part-time, 0.4-0.6 FTE (2-3 days per week, subject to agreement)

St Joseph Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional Trust Literacy and Oracy Development Partner to play a pivotal role in strengthening literacy and spoken language provision across our growing family of schools.

This is a unique opportunity to work strategically across multiple academies, supporting leaders and staff to develop outstanding practice in reading, literacy and oracy. Working alongside the Director of Primary Education and Trust Reading Leader, you will provide high-quality training, coaching and implementation support that enables schools to build sustainable expertise and deliver lasting improvement.

Your work will help ensure that every pupil, particularly disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and those at risk of falling behind, develops the literacy, language and communication skills needed to flourish both academically and personally.

What You Will Lead

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for:

1. The implementation and evaluation of the Trust-wide literacy and oracy strategy.
2. Training, coaching and professional development for teachers, leaders and support staff.
3. The effective implementation of Read Write Inc. Phonics, Talk Through Stories, Say a Poem and related evidence-informed approaches.
4. Literacy and oracy support for schools joining the Trust.
5. The development of language-rich classrooms and high-quality literacy provision.
6. Quality assurance activities, including lesson visits, review activities, pupil voice and implementation evaluations.
7. Strategies to support disadvantaged pupils, pupils with SEND and pupils at risk of falling behind.
8. The creation and dissemination of high-quality Trust-wide resources and exemplification.
9. The monitoring and evaluation of programme impact, staff development and pupil outcomes.
10. The sharing of effective practice and development of collaborative literacy networks across SJCMAT.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

1. Has successful teaching and leadership experience in primary education, with a strong record of improving early reading and literacy.
2. Has substantial experience of Read Write Inc. Phonics and coaching or training adults.
3. Possesses an excellent understanding of literacy, reading development, spoken language and vocabulary acquisition.
4. Has highly effective training, facilitation, coaching and feedback skills.
5. Understands effective implementation and evidence-informed school improvement.
6. Can analyse pupil and school performance information to identify priorities and impact.
7. Has outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
8. Can influence, support and challenge leaders across multiple schools.
9. Demonstrates excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills.
10. Shares our commitment to service, integrity, excellence and continuous improvement.
