At Highfield Community Primary, we believe every child deserves a learning environment where they can truly flourish. The Orchard is our specialized SEN unit, designed to provide a bespoke, sensory-rich education for pupils with complex needs.


The local governing board of Highfield Community Primary School are seeking to appoint an exceptional Level 3 Teaching Assistant who doesn’t just "support" but inspires. This isn't a typical classroom role, this is an opportunity to be a key architect in a child’s developmental journey.


The successful candidate will be joining our Orchard Team (SEN unit) working with children with ASD/SLCN, Our SEND unit has been open for 5 years supporting children from year 1 to year 6. 


The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they are motivated, can use their own initiative and have a genuine commitment to giving every child the highest standard of support. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of our enthusiastic team.


As TA3’s, our teaching assistants will cover the teacher’s weekly PPA and at other times when required.  The successful applicant will have a keen interest in working with children with SEND and in supporting and developing their learning. 


Essential Qualifications

  NVQ level 3 or above qualification (or equivalent)


Desirable Qualifications

  Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy


Essential Experience

  Experience of working with SEND children


Desirable Experience

  Experience of working in an SEND Classroom

Qualifications

TA3 qualification or equivalent or relevant experienceessential
