Welcome to Bowland High School
We have an excellent opportunity for a successful candidate to be able to work in our fantastic school amongst a team of dedicated staff and with pupils who are keen and ready to learn. As our Ofsted inspection in December 2022 pointed out: ‘Pupils at Bowland High enjoy coming to school, pupils feel happy and safe, the curriculum is ambitious for all pupils, pupils behave well in lessons and are eager to learn and pupils are focused and attentive in their learning.’
If you want to work in a school where investment in staff development is strong, where pupils are polite and respectful and in a location of outstanding natural beauty then this could be the job for you. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join a growing department as the school increases in numbers.

Values and vision
Bowland High believes that because it is a small school, it is much easier for staff to get to know all pupils. The whole school community is able to understand the specific needs and interests of individual students and to monitor their progress. The secondary school aims for its pupils to thrive in a secure environment, where students learn from each other as well as from their teachers.
Bowland High prides itself on being a school founded on mutual respect and responsibility, with high standards of behaviour. It considers itself to be forward-looking, but it is also proud of and true to its heritage.
Bowland High is a co-educational secondary academy based in Grindleton, near Clitheroe in Lancashire, for students aged 11-16. It is a non-denominational school. Bowland High overlooks the River Ribble and Pendle Hill from an elevated position.
Achievement through Collaboration Multi-Academy Trust is committed to a policy of equal opportunities. We respect and value cultural and religious diversity and will not discriminate on the basis of age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnic origin, religion, culture or disability. Each individual is assessed on merit alone. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
We welcome any requests from candidates wishing to visit Bowland High School. Please contact Janet Sharpe Head teacher’s PA jsharpe@bowland.atctrust.org.uk if you would like to take this opportunity.
