As a Pastoral Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in our pastoral support team. Working closely with the Head of Year, you will help shape the personal development, well-being, and behaviour of our students. Under the direction of senior leaders, you will work closely with students, families, and teaching staff to manage behaviour, support emotional well-being, and ensure every student feels safe and valued within our school community.

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES


As Pastoral Leader, you will:

·        Student Wellbeing: Act as a primary point of contact for students requiring emotional or social support.

·        Behaviour Management: Implement the school’s behaviour policy fairly and consistently, conducting restorative conversations and managing interventions.

·        Attendance & Engagement: Monitor attendance patterns and work proactively with families to improve student engagement.

·        Safeguarding: Act as a champion for child protection, working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

·        Liaison: Build strong relationships with parents/carers and external agencies (Social Care, CAMHS, etc.) to provide holistic support.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate will:

·        Have experience working with young people, preferably in an educational or youth work setting.

·        Possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

·        Remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and firmness.

·        Be highly organised and capable of maintaining detailed student records.

·        Demonstrate a commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children.
