Your Role

Do you have a passion for making education accessible and inspiring for every child? Are you ready to create meaningful change for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Emotionally-based School Avoidance (EBSA)? Melksham House School is a brand new school (opened September 2025), looking for passionate and creative teachers to join our team and support secondary-aged students struggling with Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA). This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference by working on-site, in the community, and online.

About the Role:

As a Secondary EBSA Teacher, you’ll work closely with students, families, and a multidisciplinary team to help children and young people re-engage with education. This pioneering role involves a mix of teaching, mentoring, and therapeutic approaches to meet each student’s individual needs.

Note: Full-time and part-time applications will be considered.

Key aspects of the role include:

·       Delivering tailored lessons and support plans across a variety of settings: at school, in the community, and online.

·       Building trusting relationships with students who may have complex needs and barriers to attendance.

·       Collaborating with families, colleagues, and external professionals to create a holistic support network.

·       Employing creative strategies and innovative methods to inspire and motivate students.

·       Tracking progress and adapting approaches to ensure each student achieves their full potential.

What We Offer:

·       An opportunity to shape a ground-breaking approach to education.

·       Flexible working options, including part-time positions, to suit your expertise and work-life balance.

·       A supportive team environment committed to collaboration and continuous learning.

·       Access to professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in EBSA and alternative education practices.

About You:

We are looking for dynamic individuals with a passion for working with students who face emotional and mental health challenges. For full role responsibilities and expectations, please see the attached Brunel information booklet, job description and person specification.

Please check the Person Specification for the qualifications that are listed as Essential for this role. You will be required to show these qualifications if you are successful.
