Location: the postholder will remain in their current home academy for four days per week  but will undertake regional and Trust-wide duties for one day per week.

Salary: L14 to L19 (£71,330 to £80,655 FTE), pro rata’d to 0.2 FTE

An exciting internal opportunity has arisen for an suitably experienced leader of Music to work for one day per week as a Trust Director for Music.  The successful candidate will continue in their current post, but will focus on regional and Trust-wide projects / work for the equivalent of one day per week.


You will lead on developing and delivering high quality music opportunities both regionally and across the Trust as well as supporting Music leaders in our academies to achieve excellent outcomes. You will play a part in supporting relevant school staff in delivering musical student performances at Trust wide events.


As well as taking the lead on existing projects such as regional Trust productions and the the Trust-wide Young Musician of the Year competition, you will play an important strategic role in leading and developing a Trust music service, including student and wider community opportunities, and in supporting music leaders to plan and deliver excellent enrichment.  Part of this work will include co-creating a Trust-wide Music Development plan and supporting all our academies in this work.


You will also provide advice and support to other music leaders across the Trust either through direct work and/or through leading the subject network group.   You will also undertake an annual analysis of each department’s performance, identifying areas of strength and development needs, and ensure there is a robust approach to improving Music outcomes.

You will be instrumental in ensuring that all children receive an excellent quality of education and opportunity in Music.
