Your Role

Are you an inspiring and dedicated educator with a passion for Science? Christ the King College is seeking a Teacher of Science to join our unique and vibrant school community.

As a joint Church of England and Catholic 11-18 secondary school, we offer a distinctive faith-based education founded on Christian values. We are dedicated to helping every student become "the best they can possibly be" in a supportive and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will be a well-qualified specialist capable of delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Science.

You will be expected to:

  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school’s curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils to achieve excellent outcomes.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on the learning progress and achievements of assigned pupils.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the diverse strengths and needs of all learners.
  • Promote the safety, wellbeing, and excellent progress of pupils.
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the College.

The successful candidate will be required to have:

  • the ability to teach Science across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5/A-level experience is desirable).
  • excellent subject and curriculum knowledge.
  • a commitment to the College’s joint-faith mission and high professional standards.
  • a focus on maintaining high standards of ethics, behavior, and professional conduct.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive community that values staff and their professional development through regular appraisal and training.
  • The opportunity to work in an environment that balances academic excellence with strong moral and spiritual guidance.
  • Access to professional standards and conditions of service determined by the latest School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.

Whilst the vacancy is advertised as a Main Scale teaching post, for the right candidate with relevant extensive experience, Upper Pay Scale pay can also be offered for colleagues able and willing to contribute significantly to whole-school development . This includes opportunities to lead on curriculum initiatives, act as a role model for teaching, and provide mentoring to other teachers.

The school has over 1,100 students on roll, including a Sixth Form College of about 200 students. It is a well-established comprehensive school, which is well supported by parents and highly respected in the community.

Our students are very talented, a joy to teach and standards of performance and expectations are very high. We have an outstanding vision for our young people. If you would like to be part of this successful and thriving school and are a well-qualified and highly motivated professional, we would like to hear from you.

Please be aware that we can only accept applications from overseas candidates who have the Right to Work in the UK.
