Your Role

Dovecote School, Rural Somerset | Maternity Cover up to 1 year | Full-time 


Dovecote School is an Ofsted-registered independent special school (ages 5–18) supporting pupils with autism and associated needs and SEMH. We’re looking for a Middle School Teacher who can build strong relationships, create calm routines, and deliver engaging learning that helps pupils reconnect with education. 


You will: 


  • Teach and support middle school pupils with SEN/SEMH needs 
  • Create a safe, therapeutic learning environment 
  • Adapt teaching to EHCPs and individual support plans 
  • Work closely with TAs, therapists and families 
  • Uphold safeguarding and contribute to a positive staff culture 


We’re looking for: 


  • Qualified Teacher (or substantial tutoring/teaching experience) 
  • Calm, reflective, adaptable approach 
  • Strong classroom practice and commitment to inclusive education 
  • SEN/SEMH experience preferred (not essential)
