Your Role

Abbey Road is a friendly, caring and inclusive school, with 431 pupils on roll. Our children are enthusiastic, well-behaved learners who really enjoy coming to school. We value teamwork, kindness and a positive approach to learning and play. We are a member of Equals Trust, a Primary Multi Academy Trust, with 18 schools in the Rushcliffe and Gedling area.

The Role:

Do you enjoy working with children and helping them to thrive? We have a vacancy for a reliable, child-centred Midday Opal Playworker to join our dedicated lunchtime team, working 1 hour 15 minutes a day, 5 days per week, term time only.

Your role will include:

• Supporting children during lunch and playtime to ensure safety and enjoyment.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and inclusion.

• Occasionally working on a 1:1 basis with a child who needs extra support. We are an OPAL school, which means we embrace Outdoor Play and Learning; lunchtimes are active, creative and fun!

Hours: Lunchtimes are currently staggered across year groups, so shifts vary slightly, eg 11.45am to 1.00pm or 11.55am to 1.10pm. Exact times will be confirmed upon appointment. The role is currently for 3 days a week (preferably including a Friday), with the potential to increase to 5 days in the future.

What We Offer:

Joining our school means becoming part of a vibrant, supportive community where every member is valued. In return for your commitment and enthusiasm, we can offer:

• Children who are rewarding to engage with, thrive on success, and flourish through nurture and positive relationships.

• Dedicated and highly motivated colleagues who share a strong commitment to our school vision and ethos.

• Children who are proud of their school and the achievements they make

• Opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and support through our membership of Equals Trust.

• A friendly working environment • Excellent benefits, including the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to employee health and wellbeing services.
