Your Role

Looking to be part of an effective team in a small village school? Flintham might be the school for you.

Flintham Primary School is a small, rural primary school in the village of Flintham, situated in south-east Nottinghamshire, between Newark and Bingham. Our staff, parents and community work together to provide a caring and inclusive school. We aim to deliver an ever-evolving education where teaching and learning is engaging, challenging and creative within a safe, nurturing environment. We support all our pupils to help enable them to realise their potential academically, socially, morally, spiritually and culturally within a caring environment, underpinned by our ‘Flintham Flyer Values’.

We are looking for an experienced enthusiastic Higher level teaching assistant to join our hardworking and dedicated staff team. This is an ideal opportunity for you to work in a supportive environment and to share and develop your skills and expertise.

The role will involve delivering lessons (primarily English, Maths and Whole Class Reading) in the absence of the class teacher, helping to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive in an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Fixed term 1 September 2026 - 31 August 2027

Three mornings a week (Monday, Thursday and Friday)

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  1. Enjoys being with children and puts children’s well-being at the heart of all they do
  2. Has experience of teaching children and has high aspirations for their achievement
  3. Believes in the capacity of all young people to learn and grow, despite the various challenges they face.
  4. Is able to show initiative, solutions, creativity and resilience
  5. Is a strong team player, willing to go the extra mile to make school a great experience for our pupils
  6. Demonstrates a good standard of written and spoken English
  7. First Aid Trained (desirable, but not essential)

In return we can offer you:

  1. Children who are rewarding to teach and who thrive on success, nurture and positive relationships.
  2. A dedicated and highly motivated staff team who have a shared commitment to our school vision and ethos.
  3. Professional development, collaboration and support through being a member of Equals Trust.
  4. A friendly working environment.
  5. Enrolment onto the Local Government Pension Scheme
  6. A supportive Local Governing Body
  7. Access to employee health and wellbeing services.

As part of Equals Trust you will have access to high quality professional development, collaborative working and a highly skilled, supportive and experienced team of senior leaders, including other local schools, across the Trust.

Visits to school are welcomed. Please email head@flintham.notts.sch.uk or call 01636 525371 to arrange a meeting with the headteacher. You can also use these contact details if you have any further questions or would like to discuss any aspect of this position further.
