Your Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team. We are looking for an experienced practitioner who will offer energy and fresh-thinking and is naturally passionate about the development of every child. The role will include complementing and collaborating with class teachers to ensure that every child is given the best opportunity to learn.

Our ideal candidate will offer flexibility and have the experience and confidence to work across the Primary age-range (EYFS to Year 6). There are so many skills that are intrinsic to this role: strong behaviour management and relentlessly high standards and expectations skilfully blended with a pastoral approach. A natural flare for spontaneous provision and solutions that lend themselves to supporting children with a wide range of needs. Initiative, creative skills and resilience are important attributes too.

A good understanding of Phonics is essential, Read, Write, Inc preferred.

We could write so much about the role and our school but believe the best approach would be for you to come and visit so please do get in touch. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to tour the school, meet staff and learn more about the role from Meg Lucas our Headteacher and Luci Gordon our Deputy Head and SENCo. We can guarantee you a warm welcome.

Tollerton Primary School is committed to providing a safe environment and to promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory relevant safer recruitment and DBS checks in line with our safeguarding policy. All applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Please be aware that online searches will be conducted on all shortlisted candidates.

Please contact Sally Read, School Business Manager, to arrange a visit. sread@tollerton.notts.sch.uk - 0115 9372944 - Vacancy closes Monday 9th November 2026 at noon.
