ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Lead Practitioner to support and enhance teaching and learning within our dynamic Science department at Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed Science specialist to influence classroom practice, inspire a love for the subject, and contribute to outstanding student outcomes.


As a Science Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum, ensuring all students have access to high-quality Science education. You will work closely with the Head of Science and colleagues across the department to develop pedagogy, model excellent practice, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head of Science to lead on improving the quality of teaching and learning within the Science department
  • Model outstanding classroom practice and support colleagues through coaching and mentoring
  • Support the implementation of a rigorous, knowledge-rich curriculum across all three sciences
  • Inspire and support students to develop a deep understanding and passion for Science
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance pedagogical expertise and improve student outcomes
  • Use data effectively to monitor student progress and support targeted interventions
  • Contribute to whole-school teaching and learning priorities and professional development
  • Work closely with senior and middle leaders to promote high standards of teaching and learning across the school


THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:

  • A strong academic record, ideally with a 2:1 degree or above in a Science-related subject.
  • A deep passion for Science, with expertise in at least one specialism (Biology, Chemistry, or Physics).
  • Proven leadership experience or a clear vision for leading and developing an outstanding Science department.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire both staff and students.
  • A commitment to high standards and a drive to raise achievement in Science.
  • An unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives, in line with our trust’s motto, libertas per cultum (freedom through education)
