Your Role

Trinity Academy – ASAP or January 2027 Start

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an ambitious, inspirational, and experienced Head of Social Sciences to join Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated teacher with A Level Psychology and/or Sociology teaching experience to lead and develop the delivery of Social Science subjects, inspire academic excellence, and support students in achieving their full potential within a positive, inclusive, and aspirational school environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic development and successful delivery of Social Science (Psychology/Sociology) courses across Key Stages 4 and 5, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment. You will contribute to curriculum planning and development, creating engaging and challenging learning experiences that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the social world.

You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, and external partners to promote excellent outcomes for students and ensure that Social Science subjects continue to provide meaningful pathways to higher education, training, and future careers. A key aspect of the role will be the effective delivery of A Level programmes, supporting students to achieve strong academic outcomes and make informed decisions about their next steps.

You will monitor student progress, analyse performance data, and implement appropriate strategies to raise attainment and close achievement gaps. You will support colleagues through the sharing of best practice, contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives, and help maintain a culture of high expectations and continuous professional development.

You will build strong relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues, promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance, and engagement. Through your passion for Social Sciences, subject expertise, and commitment to outstanding education, you will play a key role in shaping students' academic success, personal development, and future aspirations.
