Your Role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Gosforth Group as Assistant Head of School – Inclusion, commencing September 2026. This role will provide strategic leadership for inclusion, be the named SENDCO across one of our academies and impact upon the trust, with a particular focus on supporting our most vulnerable learners.

Working closely with fellow senior leaders and colleagues across the group, the successful candidate will help drive the highest possible outcomes for all students.

The postholder will bring a clear vision and strong commitment to creating an exceptional and inclusive school environment. They will play a central role in developing a provision that supports students academically, socially and personally, ensuring they are well prepared for their next steps in education and into adulthood. Through inclusive and diverse opportunities, the Assistant Head of School will ensure that all students—particularly those most at risk—are able to achieve, feel a sense of belonging, and thrive.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking an outstanding leader who is passionate about developing the whole child and committed to ensuring that every student leaves as a confident, well‑rounded individual. While candidates are not expected to have experience across every aspect of the role, they will demonstrate a strong understanding of effective inclusion, high‑quality provision, and meaningful advice and guidance.

The successful candidate will be confident in building positive relationships with parents and carers and experienced in working collaboratively with external agencies to support students effectively.
